Tourmaline mala | Rainbow | Mala necklace
A beautiful mala from Rainbow-Tourmaline, brown, green, pink, purple and violet. The length is 116 cm and the stones are of a great quality. You buy such a mala for the rest of your life. It feels really good and by wearing it, that feeling will only grow stronger. A necklace with a soul.
It is said that Tourmaline increases the concentration and that is a good quality for a mala. But Tourmaline is of course also the "friendship stone" so this mala is also a beautiful gift.
The mala is described beautifully by Sri Pattabhi Jois:
"Mala is a Sanskrit term that means garland. In India, there are many different kinds of malas. There are japa malas, made of sacred beads strung on a thread which are used in prayer for counting and keeping focused on the repetition of a mantra.
There are pushpa malas, which are garlands of vivid flowers, smelling of jasmine and other scents, that are strung in the form of wreaths and offered in worship of deities in homes and temples.
But we can offer another kind of mala, which is ancient in tradition, as sacred as a prayer, and as beautiful as flowers.
This mala is a garland of yoga, in which each vinyasa is like a sacred bead to be counted and focused on, and each asana is like a fragment flower strung on the thread of the breath.
Just as a japa mala adorns the neck and a pushpa mala adorns the gods, so too does this garland of yoga, when diligently practiced, adorn our entire being with peace, health, radiance, and, ultimately, self-knowledge".
