Mala van Yacbeen | Mala necklace
Special bone mala made from 108 small cream coloured beads. The tradition to make malas from bone is as old as Buddhism itself. Bone beads become more beautiful through years of use and can be used for a long time. The beads have been threaded on purple silk and the tassels have also been made from the silk. Left and right there are 2 strings knotted with each 10 counting rings to keep track of the number of prayer rounds. The ends have been provided with a Varja (diamante scepter) and a Ganta (a bell).
The Varja symbolises the male and is symbol for the road, the Ganta symbolizes the female en is the symbol for the wisdom and the purpose. Scepter and bell will lead to enlightenment together. "Path and purpose are one".
Because the beads have been handmade by Tibetan refugees in Nepal the size can vary with each necklace. The length is approximately 80 cm and it has been loosely threaded to make the counting of the beads easier.
